Einstein was born in Germany on 14th March, 1879. He went to school in Munich. He couldn’t speak until the age of 5. His family was really worried about him. He trained as a teacher in Physics and Mathematics but he didn’t get a job as a teacher. He worked for Swiss Patent office. He got his doctorate’s degree in 1905. He married twice and had children. He became Professor of Physics at the university of Prague. He worked at different universities and immigrated to the USA. He retired in 1945. Batu Erman is the first Turkish scientist to get the Marie Curie Excellence Award. He was born in 1969 and he left Turkey after secondary school. He studied biochemistry and molecular biology in New York. He did his PhD at Brandeis University in 1998. He started working on T cells. After 17 years in US, he returned to Turkey and worked as an assistant professor at Sabancı University. He has worked there since 2005. He is still doing research and he has decided to spend some of the money on running his lab.
